Brigitte Minne was born in Bruges in 1962. With a degree in foreign languages, she worked at the New Zealand Embassy in Brussels. She has written screenplays and directed children’s television programmes. Since the publication of her first book, Albertine verwacht je (‘Albertine is waiting for you’), in 1993, she has had a very prolific career. Winner of numerous prizes, often awarded by juries composed of children and young people, such as the Flanders Children’s Jury, the French Children’s Jury and the Dutch Children’s Jury, Brigitte Minne has also received the Book Feather prize (Flanders) and the Prix Octogone (France). Her books have been translated into French, German, English, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, Slovenian and Korean.
