This policy outlines our privacy practices and explains how we manage the information we collect when users visit and use our website, subscribe to our newsletter, and purchase our books.

We collect only the information you provide when you register on the website, and we use this information solely to enable you to purchase our books and to ship them to you.

We use data encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect the data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure, therefore we cannot guarantee security. This Privacy Policy aims to describe the methods of processing personal data of users of the services provided by Kite Edizioni S.r.l.

This information is provided to those who purchase services from Kite Edizioni S.r.l. or access the website www.kiteedizioni.it and its related pages or subdomains.

The procedure outlined by current legislation provides for the protection of individuals and other subjects with regard to the processing of personal data. In accordance with this, such processing will be based on principles of fairness, legality, and transparency, safeguarding the privacy and rights of the subscriber.

The processing of personal data that Kite Edizioni S.r.l. intends to carry out aims to conclude, manage, and execute service supply contracts requested by users; to organize, manage, and provide services also through communication of the data to third-party providers (e.g., shippers); to fulfill legal obligations or other duties requested by competent authorities.

The collected data will be used by Kite Edizioni S.r.l. for the complete and proper execution of the contract and will be made available to third parties only for the protection of rights and in fulfillment of obligations established by laws or regulations and upon request from the competent authorities. The processing will be based on principles of fairness, legality, and transparency, safeguarding the privacy and rights of the Client and third parties.

Data Controller

The “data controller,” to whom the data subject may refer to exercise the rights set out in Article 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, is Valentina Mai, Kite Edizioni S.r.l., Via Altinate 47 – 35122 Padova, Italy.

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003), Kite Edizioni S.r.l. informs website users of the following.

Source of Personal Data and Purposes of Processing

  1. Browsing data The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users connecting to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the requested resources, time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server response (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and IT environment. These data are normally used only to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its correct functioning, and are deleted after processing; in some cases, however, they may be used to allow access to certain sections of the site or the use of specific services, as well as to verify compliance with the usage limits granted to the user.
  2. Data provided directly by the user Some personal data are provided directly by the data subject by filling in forms to request access to certain sections or services of the site (orders and newsletters). In this case, personal data are used to maintain and manage user profiles, fulfill (if any) user requests, and fulfill contracts in favor of the user (e-commerce purchases), as well as for purposes connected to obligations required by laws, regulations, EU legislation, provisions issued by authorized authorities, and supervisory bodies.
    The use of Carta del Docente and 18App does not involve the acquisition of data by us but a transfer to the Ministry of Culture’s dedicated platforms (https://www.cartadeldocente.istruzione.it, https://www.18app.italia.it).

Nature of Data Provision

With regard to browsing data (previous point a), the data is acquired by the IT systems and software procedures used to operate the website during their normal operation; if the user does not wish to provide this data, they must refrain from browsing this site.

With regard to data provided directly by the user (previous point b), failure to provide the data marked as “mandatory” in the forms to access certain sections or use some services or content of the site makes access or use impossible and, consequently, prevents the user from sending requests (informational or contractual) to Kite Edizioni S.r.l.; failure to provide additional (non-“mandatory”) data has no adverse consequence for the user.

Cookies Policy

Cookies are small text files created on the user’s computer when they access a particular website, with the purpose of storing and transmitting information. Cookies are sent by a web server (which is the computer on which the website is running) to the user’s browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) and stored on the user’s computer; they are then re-sent to the site on subsequent visits.

For these cookies, in accordance with Article 122 of the Privacy Code and the Provision of the Data Protection Authority dated May 8, 2014 (www.garanteprivacy.it), no consent is required from the data subject.

Failure to provide data that may be acquired through the use of cookies normally does not have any negative consequences for the user, but it may slow down or prevent access to certain parts of the site, such as in cases where cookies are used to manage purchasing procedures or the provision of online services or content, or to verify compliance with usage limitations granted to the user, in which cases failure to provide such data may prevent the user from using those procedures or content or from accessing reserved sections of the site for which the user has registered.

Third-party Cookies

Through this website, some third-party cookies are installed, including “profiling” cookies (which track the user’s browsing activity and are used to create profiles aimed at sending advertising messages aligned with the user’s expressed preferences).

Mailchimp
On the site, during the payment process, there is a checkbox asking whether you would like to subscribe to our newsletter. If you give your consent, the data you provide (your email and your name) will be passed to Mailchimp to manage the subscription and will be used solely to send you our communications.

The website includes YouTube videos (LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA).
The site uses the “Privacy-enhanced mode” to embed videos. This means that YouTube will not install cookies in advance but only when you choose to watch a video. Therefore, if you do not want cookies installed, do not watch the videos.

Vimeo
The website includes Vimeo videos (LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011), which do not support a “Privacy-enhanced” mode.

If you subscribe to the newsletter via the banner on each page of the site, Kite Edizioni S.r.l. will use your email address to send you updates about new publications.

MailChimp, like any newsletter management platform, provides us with information about who opens the newsletters and clicks on the links; we use this information to understand whether our content is interesting to readers and to adjust accordingly. If you don’t want the sender of the newsletter to know you’ve opened it, read the newsletter without downloading the images. Privacy Policy for Kite Edizioni S.r.l. Applications

Kite Edizioni S.r.l. applications do not collect personal data from their users:
