Laura Walter was born under the mountains of Vicenza, and lives in Padua. Ever since she was introduced to Gianni Rodari, she discovers that there can be a wonderful story behind everything, and she starts looking for it. She finds many, follows the suggestion, sneaks in an intuition, and translates it with her unfailing blue biro. He has so far published eight books with the publishing houses Fabbri, Rizzoli, Emme Edizioni and Kellermann. With ‘Mistica Maeva e l’Anello di Venezia’, she was honoured with three awards, including the ‘Premio Mariele Ventre for children’s literature’ in 2008. A cartoon was made from one of her stories on saving water, ‘The Mystery of the Missing Water’, which won the prize for social commitment at the 2009 Giffoni Film Festival. He believes that words can arouse emotions, emotions lead to actions, and actions change the world. That is why laughter, beauty, and the environment are particularly important in his books. All with passion.
