Lorenza Farina was born in Vicenza, where she works as a librarian. She enjoys writing for children and young people with a predilection for stories set in the countryside, because meadows, hedges and gardens are like books to be “leafed through” and “read” with respect and love. “Viola is not Red” was commended at the ‘G. Cordone’ Children’s Fiction Competition for the City of Vigevano in 2006 with the following motivation: “For its ability to blend tenderness and narrative skill in portraying the temperaments of the two protagonists, in whom many children will recognise themselves”. In the 14th Edition of the National Competition of Children’s Literature ‘Giacomo Giulitto-Città di Bitritto’- ‘Viola non è Rossa’ was a finalist.
