Tommaso Carozzi was born in Verona, where he studied art and illustration. He has worked for the film industry, animation and museums. His works, exhibited in many venues, including the Venice Biennale, are populated by gigantic hybrid animals, strange worlds and curious creatures that serve as metaphors for the relationship between man and nature; this is precisely the central theme of his silent book Eleventh Commandment.
