Carl Norac was born in Mons, Belgium, in 1960, the son of a writer and an actress. Carl wrote poetry as a boy, and received his first literary prize at the age of eighteen. He travelled extensively, especially in Asia, Africa and the Americas. His children’s books were inspired by these journeys that took him from sandy deserts to Arctic expanses.
