Alexandra Mitsiali was born and raised in Corfu and currently lives in Thessaloniki. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a PhD in Pedagogy. She works in secondary education and occasionally in higher education. She writes children’s books, young adult and adult novels, publishes short stories in literary magazines and contributes occasional articles to online and print media.
His novel “Θα σε σώσω ό,τι κι αν γίνει” (I will save you, no matter what happens) was awarded the National Literary Prize for Young People in 2014, while his novel “Ξυπόλυτοι Ήρωες” (Barefoot Heroes) received the National Literary Prize for Young People in 2017 and also won the Young Novel Prize from the Greek section of IBBY in the same year. Several of his other books have been nominated for Greek National Literary Awards, the awards of the magazine “Διαβάζω-Αναγνώστης” (Reader Digest) and by the Greek section of IBBY.
