Sang-Keun Kim

Sang-Keun Kim is an author and illustrator. He studied animation at university where he learnt how to tell stories and convey emotions with images. His first picture book, Little Mole’s Worry, published in many languages, was awarded Best Children’s Book of 2017 by the Taipei Public Library in Taiwan and named Best Illustrated Book of the Year in 2015 in South Korea.

His works have been translated into many languages. “Star Fishing” and “What’s in the cave?” were selected in Germany for the 2020 and 2021 White Ravens lists, “A selection of international literature for children and young people”. “Little Mole’s Wish” was included in Kirkus Reviews’ Best Books of 2019 list, Bank Street’s Best Children’s Book of 2020 and Indie Next List Top 10 Pick. Little Mole was accepted into the Original Art Show at the Society of Illustrators 2019 and A Junior Library Guild Selection. He recently won the fifth MOE GRAND PRIZE 2023 in Japan for his book Star Fishing.
