A summer by the sea, a chance encounter, a friendship that, in just a few days, becomes everything. Amidst swims, comic books, notes slipped under the door and a night spent gazing at the stars, two children promise to remain friends forever. Until the end of the world. But all summers come to an end, people drift apart, and promises sometimes take unexpected turns. Many years later, returning to the same places, that child—now an adult—reflects on that summer and on what remains of the people we loved as children.
