Davide Calì was born in Switzerland.
He is a cartoonist, illustrator and children’s author. His books are published in Italy by Kite Edizioni, Zoolibri, Orecchio Acerbo, Arca; in France by Sarbacane, Actes Sud and Thierry Magnier; in the United States by Chronicle; in Portugal by Planeta Tangerina.
At present, Davide has more than a hundred publications to his credit, translated into numerous languages and distributed in more than 30 countries. He has also received awards in France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and the United States.
He won the 2025 Andersen Award for best author.
